Membership is available to those persons of professional competency, integrity, and good moral character who are actively engaged in the defense of criminal cases. Non-attorneys may also apply for membership. All membership requests are subject to approval by the President or the Board of Directors.
The CCDLA sponsors a minimum of 8.5 hours of continuing legal education each year at no cost to its members, including at least 6.0 hours of criminal law and 2.5 hours of professionalism. Members also receive a discounted rate for continuing legal education at the CCDLA Annual Seminar. An attorney with a standard membership to the CCDLA will receive CLE credits for less than $17 per credit hour!
Periodically, continuing legal education topics that are offered will also qualify for additional specializations, such as appellate law or OVI practice and procedure. For more information on specific educational requirements and how to fulfill them, click on the CLE tab at the top of this page.
Members are also invited to attend the annual holiday party, and are eligible to be nominated to the CCDLA board of directors.
Basic membership is available at the following rates:
$ 150.00 - Standard Attorney Membership
$ 50.00 - Non-Attorneys, Law Professors, and New Lawyers (first licensed 2015 - 2018)
$ 25.00 - Law Students
Advanced memberships are available at the following levels:
$ 2500.00 - Lifetime Membership
$ 1000.00 - Presidents Club Membership
$ 500.00 - Directors Club Membership
$ 200.00 - Sustaining Member
